Annual Summer Book Sale

Pack Your Bags—It’s the Last Book Bonanza Before the 2-Year Literary Lockdown!

New Milford, the clock is ticking! The Friends of the New Milford Public Library are staging their final Summer Book SaleJuly 11–13 at New Milford High School—and then, poof! No more sales until at least 2027, thanks to major library construction.

This isn’t just another weekend event—it’s your last chance for 24+ months to score thousands of gently used books at jaw-dropping prices. And the Friends aren’t being dramatic—they’re being direct:

“Due to the library construction, this will be our LAST book sale for at least 2 years! Think ahead and STOCK up!!”

Your Battle Plan:

  • Thursday, July 11:
    • 9–10 a.m.: Early Bird Hour – $5 entry (first pick of the best titles!)
    • 10 a.m.–7 p.m.: FREE entry for everyone
  • Friday, July 12:
    • 10 a.m.–6 p.m.: Full access, relaxed browsing
  • Saturday, July 13:
    • 10 a.m.–2 p.m.: EVERY BOOK HALF PRICE! (Yes, the whole room!)

From beach reads and fantasy epics to cookbooks, kids’ series, memoirs, and mysteries—you’ll find it all. And with no sales in 2025 or 2026, now is the time to buy like you won’t see books again (because, well… you won’t!).

Don’t just browse—stockpile. Bring boxes. Bring friends. Bring your summer reading dreams.
